Our History
The history of the law firm of Dennison, Dennison & Harper has its beginnings when Donald J. Dennison graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1947. Mr. Dennison’s graduation from law school was delayed when he was called to duty to serve in the United States Navy during World War II.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Dennison began to practice law in 1948 in Brookville, Pennsylvania. In 1968, Mr. Dennison moved his practice to the building the firm presently occupies in historic downtown Brookville just one block from the newly renovated Jefferson County Courthouse.
John C. Dennison, II, graduated from Valparaiso University Law School in 1978 and joined his father in the practice in 1979, forming the firm of Dennison & Dennison. Donald J. Dennison continued to practice law until 2002, when he died as a result of a traffic accident while on his way home from a Pennsylvania Bar Association meeting. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.
Troy J. Harper graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1994. Mr. Harper spent the following year as a judicial clerk for the Honorable William L. Henry, the then President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Jefferson County. Mr. Harper joined the firm as an associate in 1995 and in 1998 was named a partner of the firm of Dennison, Dennison & Harper.
Today, Dennison, Dennison & Harper strives to provide exceptional legal services to its individual and business clients throughout Pennsylvania. The members and staff at the firm take a client centered approach to understanding and meeting the unique legal needs of each client in a professional and timely manner.
The firm provides a focused practice for its clients in areas of business planning and transactions, real estate transactions, estate planning, estate administration, mineral, oil and gas rights, litigation, insurance defense and personal injury.

John C. Dennison, II (ddhjohn@usachoice.net) Mr. Dennison was born and raised in Brookville, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Westminster College and obtained his B.A. in 1974 and an M.Ed. in 1975. He graduated from Valparaiso University Law School in 1978 and was admitted to practice in 1979. Mr. Dennison is an AV peer rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
Troy J. Harper (ddhtroy@usachoice.net) Mr. Harper was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, and was raised in Donora, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate education at Thiel College obtaining his B.A., magna cum laude, in 1991. He graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1994 and was admitted to practice the same year. Mr. Harper is a BV peer rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
